Tea for Five. Opium Clippers is a performance piece in which Neja Tomšič explores the history that led to the current epidemic of opioid addiction in the US through painted ceramics, a tea-drinking ritual and a book.

Through the particular stories of individuals, merchants and politicians, businesses and pirates, the project reveals the cradle of capitalism and consumerism and the role that opium and tea played in it.
