The article was initiated with the conference ‘Not Yet Written Stories. Female Artists in Central and Eastern Europe’ that took place in Warsaw and online on 2-3 September 2021.
“The essay focuses on the life and work of two important female artists from Ljubljana, Dragica Čadež and Duba Sambolec, who have both been influential in the Slovenian and Yugoslav cultural milieu, but at the same time have both faced exclusion from the dominant canons of local art history.”
